Can't we all just be happy?

HAPPY HUMP DAY EVERYONE!

“The grass is always greener on the other side. ”

This phrase slides out of the lips of plenty of people a day…so it must be true right?? Whether it is pertaining to jobs, relationships, friends, family or whatever your personal situation might be, can “we” as a general public just learn to be satisfied with what we currently have on our plate?
Since I have no life, I laid on my couch this morning watching re-runs of Sex and The City, and I listened to Carrie talk about living single in Manhatton, and how single “powerful” women run the world and how “married” people get drug into this world of misery and exclusiveness. Not only is this true, (well not so much the misery part) but it also made me jealous. It made my mind drift off to the fact that I am young, and may be missing out on the best years of my life by having settled down already. It needs to be all about me at this point in my life, so was I living for me or him?

I am in a serious relationship with my live in boyfriend and am completely satisfied with my situation. I wouldn’t give up the stability or consistency that comes along with a relationship, but I am only human and can’t help the fact that my mind floats away at times. I am the only one in my circle of girl-friends that is in a relationship, so I get to hear all of the crazy stories of the single lives my girls continued without me after I moved away.

Let’s take my best friend for example:(You will be hearing plenty of stories about her, so we shall name her????? ) She just got out of a 5 year relationship almost a year ago, so needless to say, she is living it up. She has about 4 guys. Exhibit A is a good friend of hers who she knows she has amazing sex with, but can still get a “buy one get one free” deal with him, since they have a level of intimacy. She not only gets the hot sex, but the snuggles and kisses after as well. Exhibit B is some guy she met who is ridiculously sexy, and she has slept with only twice, but keeps him around for the purpose of eye candy. Exhibit C is a “not so much her type” guy who she actually is starting to like, but bad thing is, homeboy has a kid. Lastly Exhibit D is a guy from high-school who is good looking, semi-successful and is completely smitten with her, but is too available, so she can’t look at as more than just a free dinner…oops I mean friend. :-) I absolutely love her phone calls about her complicated and “stressful” dating life, but sometimes she complains of how tiring it is and how nice it would be to just have a constant guy. I can’t help but chime in and say “The grass is always greener.” Everyone in this world seems to want what they can’t/don’t have. Her tales of the first kiss, the dates, the attempts by the guys to impress her sends me waaaaaaaaay back! When was the last time I got butterflies from a first kiss? When was the last time I got to go out ’til all hours of the night with my bitches and not give a shit what or who we do? GEEEEEEEZ it’s been years! I abso-fucking-lutely have been known to throw a good thing away because I was bored. I was the queen of finding flaws in otherwise flawless guys just because they were at my disposal and I could just replace Mr. Constant when I sick of the single life.

Funny but true story: I actually no bull-shit broke up with this hot muscle-y, football stud, super sweet guy who was TOTALL into me because the way he held the steering wheel drove me FUCKING NUTS! (Ya I know I am pshyco!)

It’s especially hard to stay satisfied when the important people in your life are on the other side of the fence, and that’s the timing me and my girls have always had. I always seem to be the odd ball out and either be single when everyone else has a boy, or vice-versa, so I could never stay satisfied. Ohhh disposing boys is a tough gig, but someone has got to do it!
Moral of the story is, I have been on both sides of the fence, and although there are a lot of pros to being single and living the “free life”, I have experienced enough to weigh my options and know when to hang on to a good thing…even if it becomes routine. For now, I will just listen to the sexcapades of my best and appreciate the loving arms I get to come home to everynight.
Tomorrow I have a flight to Denver, and plan on giving my self plenty of things to rant and rave about, so I hope you’ll come back for more!!

Until then…Hope you hump on this good hump day!

Signed,
Ardyn!

Virgin Blogger

Being a 20-something southern belle soul searching, friendship searching and love searching I decided to follow my heart and start letting readers venture into my everyday life and share the ups and downs with me. I recently started a job with a motorsports news website and have boosted my "writing career" by writing structured stories to please "the man", and need a place where I can just be me! Who am I? Glad you asked! ;-)
I dedicate my first blog to giving you an insight to me:

You can call me Ardyn.
I'm random.
I have no filter.
I curse like a fucking sailor.
My passion is music.
Sex is a must.
Fashion isn't everything.
My friends are life.
I am one of a kind.

I just bought a house with my live-in boyfriend, but don't think for a second that will stop me from sharing all sorts of juicy bits of my life with you! There is plenty of drama here! I am extremely opinionated, but open minded to anything imaginable. I planned on starting this blog as a way for me to vent, exaggerate, create and share everything that is harbored in my brain and heart. But first…you need to know a few more key things about me!
The broken road I have lead that has made me the woman I am today has been a rough, but educational one. I have learned so much about life and love in my adolescent years, and was forced to “grow up” at a much earlier age than most due to my early starting career that I choose not to elaborate on to protect the innocent J .
I grew up in what used to be a small Texas town where everybody knew everybody and personal business was not particularly “personal”. I was perfectly content with being the tom-girl I was, never having a boyfriend and playing football in the cul-de-sac with the boys until the day I met my hormones. It was the second week of 4th grade when my first weakness moved into the neighborhood. Not to elaborate too much, because as a vague introduction to me, you will have the pleasure of reading the details in another entry, but this distraction ended up being my “small town sweetheart” for 8 years off and on…mostly on. I am not sure if I blame or credit him for the beautiful disaster of emotions I have become, but he absolutely had effect on what I became.
Now, I sit here on this rainy 4th of July Friday watching Sandlot with the man I am with today, thankful for all the drama and mess I have put myself through, so I can share my past, present and future with you…if you choose to follow. Not only will you get to hear me rant and rave about God knows what, nor will I only give you insight to my life’s situations and my extreme points of view, but I will bring you into my life and soul as I grow as a woman, lover, and friend. Happy 4th of July!!!

Until next time…
